The Reconcavo Basin

Exploration

Five Exploration and Production concessions in the Reconcavo Basin were acquired during the 11th Bidding Round of ANP, on May 15, 2013. Exploratory period will be 5 years old and, in the event of commercial discovery, will be followed by a 27 years production period. The Minimum Exploratory Program (PEM) committed by Novapetroleo with ANP consists of six exploration wells and 130 km2 of 3D seismic.

REC-T-84

Concession area: 29 Km2

Situated immediately to the south oh the Sauipe field, the main exploratory objectives are geological features similar to that field, or even its extension into the block.

PEM:

  • 2 exploratory wells
  • 15,12 km2 of 3D seismic

REC-T-104

Concession area: 30.4 km2

Is part of a group of 4 blocks located around the Fazenda Santo Stevão field. Its exploratory campaign will focus on the identification of geological features similar to that field, or similar to Sauipe field. The block is located in the geologic boundary between the Quiricó platform, to the East, and the Alagoinhas low, to the West.

  • 1 exploration well
  • 15,12 km2 of 3D seismic

REC-T-105

Concession ares: 22.9 km2

Located on the Quiricó platform. Fazenda Santo Estevão field lies within this block and its exploratory campaign will focus on the identication of similar geological features.

PEM:

  • 3 exploratory wells
  • 22.9 km2 of 3D seismic

REC-T-115

Concession area of 28,7 km2

This is the only Novapetroleo block located within the geological feature known as Alagoinhas low, where it is expected that the reservoirs are deeper, with chance to produce natural gas.

PEM:

  • 28,7 km2 of 3D seismic

REC-T-116

Concession area of 31.3 km2

The block is located immediately to the south of the Fazenda Santo Estevão field and to the north of the Mata-Catu fault. It lies in the geologic bounday between the Alagoinhas low and the southernmost portion of the Quiricó platform.

PEM:

  • 10.16 km2 of 3D seismic
